The Computers & Graphics journal focuses on interactive computer graphics, visualization, novel input modalities, and virtual environments, and, within this scope, on graphical models, data structures, languages, picture manipulation algorithms and related software.
We are planning a special section of Computers and Graphics on the Reality-Virtuality Continuum and its Applications, due to be published in November/Dec 2020. The concept of the Reality-Virtuality Continuum was first developed by Milgram and Kishino in 1994, and is a continuous scale categorising how much of a user’s experience is virtual, ranging between the completely real, to fully immersive Virtual Reality. Today, the concept of the Reality-Virtuality Continuum is explored by research in areas such as a Mixed Reality (MR), Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR) and Extended Reality (XR).
We welcome high-quality original submissions within the scope of the RV Continuum, i.e. those that have not been previously published in any other venue. Outstanding contributions that significantly extend existing previously published work will also be considered, provided they contribute at least 30% new/original work. Authors of such submissions will be required to cite the original work, clearly identify the new contributions and explain how this work extends the original contribution.
Topics of interest for this special section include, but are not limited to:
RV continuum fundamental research and related technology
RV systems papers
Interactive RV environments and interaction techniques
Industry applications of RV technologies
Evaluation methods for RV experiences
