Special Issue Call for Papers:

Parallel programming in recent times offers impeccable computing solutions allowing the emerging industries to cut costs with affordable services effectively. At the same time, the research on parallel programming further increased the demand for supercomputers offering the services at higher computational speed. However, to achieve such high-level computational goals, it is necessary to have advanced parallel programming models that enable the effective implementation of modern computing techniques to attain maximum efficiency benefits. One of the most important constraints here is that the cost factors associated with the development of supercomputers are high. Comparatively, the cost required for developing and implementing the software requirements for such machines is much more expensive. Here comes the importance of software engineering tools and methodologies for parallel computing environments. The use of software engineering principles effectively assists the software development processes and helps develop high-performance fault-tolerant software paradigms within specified time limits, budget constraints, and satisfying the end-user requirements. 

In summary, the area of parallel programming is an interesting research area, and it is acquiring much more research attention with emerging hardware and embedded system technologies. Due to its performance-enhancing features, there exist numerous practical implementations of parallel programming models from a real-time perspective. The user of parallel and high-performance computing systems has now become the common practice in science and engineering. One of the most prominent ways to improve performance in future applications is to develop programs that naturally scale well with multiple processors. Unfortunately, parallel programming models are very hard to be developed due to their underlying embedded architectures. This is because it is much complicated to write codes that scale dynamically when there is increased parallelism available in the hardware. In fact, most of the applications today run on a single core and find no improvement when working with multiple cores. The aim of this special issue is to identify and envisage software engineering tools and methodologies focusing on improved parallel programming models for high-performance computing systems. The major objective here is to employ software engineering principles to develop innovative parallel programming models that cope well with the embedded hardware architectures and emerging computing requirements.

Ali Ahmadian is a Senior Lecturer at the Institute of IR 4.0, The National University of Malaysia, Adjunct Lecturer at the Kean University (Wenzhou Campus), China and Visiting Professor at the Mediterranean University of Reggio Calabria. As a young researcher, he is dedicated to research in applied mathematics. He received his Ph.D. in early of 2014 as the best postgraduate student from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). After his Ph.D. He took a postdoctoral fellowship at same university as part of the numerical analysis research group and at the same time joint to the University of Malaya as an Associate Researcher. He was promoted as a Fellow Researcher on December 2017 in UPM and supervised a number of PhD and MSC students as the main and member of supervisory committee. 8th Rank based on citations to his research works recognized by Google Scholar for the field of “Fuzzy Sets and Systems”. In general, his primary mathematical focus is the development of computational methods and models for problems arising in computer science, biology, physics, and engineering under fuzzy and fractional calculus (FC); in this context, he has worked on projects related to nano-communication networks, drug delivery systems, acid hydrolysis in palm oil frond, and carbon nanotubes dynamics, nanofluids, viscosity, AI and etc. He could successfully receive 16 national and international research grants (Worth: $ 800,000) and selected as the 1% top reviewer in the fields of mathematics and computer sciences recognized by Publons during 2017-2020. He is a member of editorial board in Progress in Fractional Differentiation and Applications (Natural Sciences Publishing) and guest editor in Mathematical Methods in Applied Sciences (Wiley), Advances in Mechanical Engineering (SAGE), Symmetry (MDPI), Frontier in Physics (Frontiers) and International Journal of Hybrid Intelligence (Inderscience Publishers) and etc. He is an author of more than 100 research papers published in the reputed journals including high prestigious publishers such as Nature, IEEE, Elsevier, Springer, Wiley and etc. He also presented his research works in 38 international conferences held in Canada, Serbia, China, Turkey, Malaysia and UAE. Valentina E. Balas is currently Full Professor in the Department of Automatics and Applied Software at the Faculty of Engineering, “Aurel Vlaicu” University of Arad, Romania.She holds a Ph.D. Cum Laude, in Applied Electronics and Telecommunications from Polytechnic University of Timisoara. Dr. Balas is author of more than 350 research papers in refereed journals and International Conferences. Her research interests are in Intelligent Systems, Fuzzy Control, Soft Computing, Smart Sensors, Information Fusion, Modeling and Simulation.She is the Editor-in Chief to International Journal of Advanced Intelligence Paradigms (IJAIP) and toInternational Journal of Computational Systems Engineering (IJCSysE), member in Editorial Boardmember of several national and international journals and is evaluator expert for national, international projects and PhD Thesis.Dr. Balas is the director of Intelligent Systems Research Centre in Aurel Vlaicu University of Arad andDirector of the Department of International Relations, Programs and Projects in the same university.She served as General Chair of the International Workshop Soft Computing and Applications (SOFA) in nine editions organized in the interval 2005-2020 and held in Romania and Hungary.Dr. Balas participated in many international conferences as Organizer, Honorary Chair, Session Chair,member in Steering, Advisory or International Program Committees and Keynote Speaker. Dr. Soheil Salahshour received the Ph.D. degree from the Islamic Azad University (IAU), Science and Research Branch, Tehran, Iran, in 2012. He joined the Department of Mathematics, IAU, Mobarakeh branch, Mobarakeh, Iran, in 2010, he is currently an Assistant Professor in Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, Bahcesehir University, Istanbul, Turkey. He has worked in various fields of fuzzy setting theory including fuzzy fractional calculus, fuzzy expert systems, and fuzzy system of equations. He published more than 100 papers in the peer-reviewed journals. He is also a reviewer of the several reputed JCR-indexed journals in fuzzy field.
