Special Issue Call for Papers:

Software-Defined Networking (SDN) is an advanced form of network virtualization. SDN helps control service providers to host millions of virtual networks without using common separation methods like VLAN. It eliminates the physical infrastructure limitations of networks. SDN is becoming an important building block for public and private clouds, providing several benefits for businesses trying to move into a virtual environment, and enabling to associate multiple network devices into a single hardware.

The latest advancements in network control methods allow technology revolutionsm, such as network virtualization and data center consolidation, which increase network complexity, network automation demands, and network transfer rate issues with control data and High-Performance Computing (HPC). SDN controlling offers benefits including on-demand provisioning, automated load balancing, streamlined physical infrastructure, and the ability to scale network resources in lock-step with application and data needs.

This special issue focuses on SDN, addressing its challenges by offering solutions that enable dynamic networking, real-time and application-centric resource allocation. It also intends to present efficient methods to manage networks as well as address network issues faced commonly in running critical business applications and providing internet-based control in Industrial applications and networks.

This spacial issue will consider revised and substantially extended versions of selected papers presented at the “10th International Conference on Intelligent Systems and Control (ISCO 2016)”. We also strongly encourage researchers who were unable to attend the conference to submit their outstanding papers to this special issue.
