Dear Colleagues,

IoT (Internet of Things) is the technology that fundamentally connects objects and entities of the physical world to platforms and mechanisms operating in the virtual world. Objects and entities as well as devices and machines that are used in our daily life are being connected to the Internet, talking to and assisting each other augmenting human actions and intelligence. Computing powers built into devices and things with emerging platform technologies are deeply transforming our way of life, thus “Smart Life” emerges. IoT is revolutionizing every aspects of our life. People are working smart at smart homes and smart workplaces in smart cities while moving around in smart vehicles carrying smart devices. Many opportunities as well as challenges lie in developing and applying IoT to and for Smart Life of the future.

This Special Issue on “IoT-Based Smart Life” seeks contributions on how to nurture and cultivate IoT technologies and applications for the Smart Life of the future. Papers are welcomed that deal with the technological innovations and applications as well as behavioral, social, and economic impacts of these innovations and applications.
