Intelligent Computing Systems in Biomedical Image Processing

Description:

The recent advancement and invent of Computational imaging analysis there is a need to optimize our available distinguished environmental resources using methods from engineering, mathematics and computer science. Intelligent systems are technologically advanced machines which determines how machines interact and receive response to from an environment. These systems can perceive their environment through computer vision. Intelligent system focuses on how they react with users when their environment gets changed from one medium to another. Recent advances in factory automation, visual inspection and surveillance, biomedical imaging analysis, image driven medical clinical studies, decision-econometrics intelligent techniques, information fusion and visualization, meta agent driven techniques making our systems more reliable, powerful and computing efficient. In past decades, techniques related to biomedical informatics and computer vision have been applied frequently in various inter-multidisciplinary areas in hybrid forms. With the emerging challenges and opportunities, the intent of proposed book is to report recent advances, applications and benefits in computational field of information science. This will provide the opportunity for research community across the globe to share their ideas on these newly emerging fields of intelligent systems and biomedical image processing. With the invent of artificial robots, Computer vision is powering world changing emerging technologies. It shifted technologies paradigm from object recognition to augmented reality to self-driving cars. Computer Vision is concerned with automatic extraction, feature analysis and useful understanding from image sequences. The automatic visual understanding and secure surveillance could be achieved with help of vision. Recent advances in computer science and intelligent systems are also likely to reshape rehabilitation engineering. These techniques also help in detecting anomalies from medical imaging which help to cure patients suffering from different disorders. Computer Vision techniques may be just one step further along this road—and perhaps a game changer for future medical bio-engineering systems.

In the early eighties, AI in medicine was the main concern while developing medical expert systems in specialized medical domains aimed at supporting diagnostic decision-making. The recent advancement of intelligent computing techniques for analyses of biomedical applications can be defined as the use of specialized statistical, pattern recognition, machine learning, data abstraction, and visualization tools for analysis of data and discovery of mechanisms that created the data. This special issue focuses on recent advances and benefits of intelligent computing techniques for computer vision systems and biomedical applications, aimed at narrowing the increasing gap. The main purpose of this special issue is to describe the different techniques of intelligent systems from a practical point of view: solving common life problems. The overall aim of this special issue is to collect state-of-the-art contributions on the latest research and development, up-to-date issues, and challenges in the field of Intelligent Computing Systems in Biomedical Image Processing. Proposed submissions should be original, unpublished, and present novel in-depth fundamental research contributions either from a methodological perspective or from an application point of view.
