Dependable Cyber Physical Systems (SI:DCPS19)

CPS (Cyber-Physical Systems) is an interdisciplinary field that features systematic integration of computation, communication, and control of physical processes, with diverse applications in many application domains, including robotics and automation, transportation (e.g., connected and autonomous vehicles), manufacturing, civil infrastructure, energy, healthcare, etc. The design and management of CPS pose significant challenges in multiple aspects of system dependability, including real-time requirements, fault tolerance, privacy and security, sustainability, reliability, scalability, and flexibility. This Special Issue addresses the following topics related to dependable CPS:

• Dependability modelling, evaluation, and tools for CPS
• Architectural frameworks and design methodologies for dependable CPS
• Embedded systems design, including hardware/software co-design, for dependable CPS
• Software platforms for dependable CPS
• Safety, reliability and fault-tolerance in dependable CPS
• Data analytics and machine learning in dependable CPS
• Security and privacy in CPS
• Dependable CPS applications

All original manuscripts that fit within the scope are welcome. Authors of papers accepted to the 2019 IEEE International Conference on Cyber, Physical and Social Computing (CPSCom-2019) are especially encouraged to submit to this SI.

Submissions to this Special Issue (SI) should be made using Elsevier’s editorial system at the journal website (https://www.evise.com/profile/api/navigate/JSA), under the “Submit Your Paper” link). Please select the “SI:DCPS19” option as the type of the paper during the submission process.

JSA has adopted the Virtual Special Issue model to speed up the publication process, where accepted SI papers are queued along with regular papers to be published in an upcoming regular issue, but in a separate section marked as SI papers. Therefore, authors are encouraged to submit papers early, and need not wait until the submission deadline.
