Special Issue Call for Papers:

The integration of artificial intelligence and computer vision technologies has become a topic of increasing interest for both researchers and developers from academic fields and industries worldwide. It is foreseeable that artificial intelligence will be the main approach of the next generation of computer vision research. The explosive number of artificial intelligence algorithms and increasing computational power of computers have significantly extended the number of potential applications for computer vision. They have also brought new challenges to the vision community.

This is the fifth special section on artificial intelligence and computer vision following the previous ones in February 2017, July 2018, January 2020, and January 2021. We also expect to have future special sections on this topic as the area is open to new developments with many innovative and highly productive research.

Authors are invited to submit outstanding and original unpublished research manuscripts focused on the latest findings in artificial intelligence and computer vision. The topics of interest are:

Submission of manuscripts:

Research articles must not have been published or submitted for publication elsewhere. All articles will be peer reviewed and accepted based on quality, originality, novelty, and relevance to the special section’s theme. Before submission authors should carefully read over the journal’s Author Guidelines, which is available at

Yujie Li received her B.S. degree in computer science and technology from Yangzhou University in 2009. She received her M.S. degrees in electrical engineering from Kyushu Institute of Technology and Yangzhou University in 2012. She received a Ph.D. degree from Kyushu Institute of Technology in 2015. From 2016 to 2017, she was a lecturer at Yangzhou University. Currently, she is an assistant professor at Fukuoka University, Japan, and a JSPS Research Fellow in Kyushu Institute of Technology, Japan. Her research interests include computer vision, sensors, and image segmentation.

 

 

Prof. Mei Wang

Mei Wang received her Ph.D. degree from Xi’an University of Science and Technology. She is a Professor in Xian University of Science and Technology. She was the visiting professor respectively in Imperial College London, UK, and Macquarie University, AUS. Her current research interests are the brain intelligence and the computer system.

 

Dr. Zhibin Yu

Zhibin Yu received the B.E. from Harbin Institute of Technology, China, the M.E. degree in computer engineering and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from Kyungpook National University, South Korea, in 2009 and 2016, respectively. In 2016, he joined the Department of Electronic Engineering, Ocean University of China, where he is currently an associate professor. He has published over 40 technical papers on the first-class journals and conferences, including IEEE Transactions on Multimedia, Neural Networks, Applied Soft Computing, International Journal of Computer Vision, etc. His current research interests include underwater image processing, image-to-image translation, object detection, object tracking and generative neural networks.

 

Dr. Yichuan Wang

Yichuan Wang is a Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor in Digital Marketing at the University of Sheffield, with previous posts as a Lecturer/Assistant Professor in Marketing at the Newcastle University Business School, and an Instructor in Business Analytics at the Raymond J. Harbert College of Business, Auburn University (USA) where he earned his PhD in business & information systems. His research focuses on examining the impact of digital technologies and information systems (e.g., big data analytics, AI, and social media) in influencing practices in marketing, healthcare management, and tourism management.
