The University of Alicante is a public research university located in the municipality of San Vicente del Raspeig in the city of Alicante, Spain. The university was founded in 1979 and built on the unfinished structure of another university, the Center for University Studies, whose construction was halted in 1968.

As a research institution, the University of Alicante is committed to conducting research activities that revolve around innovation, as well as the knowledge transfer that will be beneficial to various sectors.
