The Humboldt University of Berlin, known as Humboldt-Universität in German, is a public university noted to be one of the preeminent universities in the world, especially in natural sciences. It is linked to numerous breakthroughs during the 19th and 20th centuries through its researchers and professors such as Albert Einstein. Situated in the center of Mitte in Berlin, it continues to be a leading institute in education. It pioneered the Humboldtian model of higher education, which influenced many European and Western colleges and universities.
