Technical University of Dortmund or TU Dortmund University, is located in Germany’s third largest city, Dortmund, in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. Established in 1968, it marked a significant turning point in the history of the Ruhr region when the local industry began to shift to technology from coal mining and steel manufacturing.

As a research-intensive academic institution, TU Dortmund University has an impressive profile with more than 1,000 projects whose funds were secured through partnerships and collaboration with external organizations, as well as through grants from various institutions. It is also important to note that TU Dortmund University’s research profile specializes in the areas of materials, production technology, and logistics; chemical biology, process engineering, and drug research; data analysis, modeling, and simulation; and education and inclusivity.
