The University of Central Florida (UCF) is a distinguished public research university situated 13 miles east of downtown Orlando, Florida. Founded on June 10, 1963, UCF provides exceptional academic experience through a combination of vibrant student life, cutting-edge research opportunities, and world-class faculty.

The university’s journey to becoming the largest university (by enrollment) in Florida started in January 1967 with the construction of the main campus in Orlando. By the following year, the institution opened its doors as Florida Technological University.
