Services account for a major part of the IT industry today. Companies increasingly like to focus on their core expertise area and use IT services to address all their peripheral needs. Services Computing is a new science which aims to study and better understand the foundations of this highly popular industry. It covers the science and technology of leveraging computing and information technology to model, create, operate, and manage business services. Like its predecessors, SCC 2020 will contribute in building the pillars of this important science and shaping the future of Services Computing.
Services Computing currently shapes the thinking of business modeling, business consulting, solution creation, service delivery, and software architecture design, development and deployment. The global nature of Services Computing leads to many opportunities and challenges and creates a new networked economic structure for supporting different business models. SCC 2020 will help in bridging the gap between business services and information technology by driving research in technologies such as service-oriented architecture (SOA), business process integration and management, service engineering, cloud computing and Web 2.0.
IEEE International Conference on Services Computing (SCC) is a flagship conference of the IEEE Computer Society Technical Committee on Services Computing (TCSVC) focusing on the entire lifecycle of innovative research and enabling technologies related to service-oriented systems. It is a premium international forum for researchers & practitioners in academia, industry, and government to share recent advances in services computing techniques and best practices, to identify emerging research topics, and to define the future of services-as-a-science. Scope of the 17th IEEE SCC is broadened by merging of IEEE International Congress on Internet of Things (ICIOT) and IEEE Symposium on Future of Financial Services (FFS) to make the forum more valuable and inspiring to the services computing community.
IEEE SCC 2020 invites original papers addressing all topics relevant to services lifecycle. Specially, refereed paper reviews will be organized in the following nine research areas:
Foundations of Services Computing (modeling, discovery, SOA, SLA, semantics, registry, etc.)
Serviceology / Services Science (SOSE, operation and management, value chain, education, etc.)
AI@Scale in Services Computing (model risk management, application and process modernization, etc.)
Scientific Workflows & Business Process Integration and Management (discovery, composition, recommendation, scheduling, ESB, etc.)
API Economy, Microservices, and Digital Service Composition (container, pattern, network, etc.)
Service QoS, Lifecycle Management, and DevOps (security & compliance monitoring, event management, continuous integration, continuous delivery/deployment, continuous improvement, etc.)
Internet of Things as a Service
Enterprise Services and Service Verticals (e.g., financial services, industry 4.0, smart cities, etc.)
Innovative Service Applications and Human-Centered Services (AI, blockchain, quantum computing, etc)
