Forbes Top University Ranking in the United States for 2017

Forbes released the ranking of universities and colleges across the United States of America for the year 2017.  The ranking is prepared annually by the Center for College Affordability and Productivity. College and university rankings in the United States are rankings of US colleges and universities ordered by various combinations of various contributing factors which differ considerably depending on the organization performing the ranking. For Forbes, there are a number of factors which determine the institutions ranking including student satisfaction, post-graduate success, student debts and graduation rate.

For this year ranking, Harvard University is at the top spot followed by Stanford, Yale, Princeton, and MIT. Harvard seized the top place on Forbes’ ranking of universities for the first time since the first release of the list in 2008. Harvard rose to the top spot after being on 4th and 6th positions in 2016 and 2015 respectively. For Stanford University, which was at position 1 during 2016, it dropped to position 2 for this year. It is worth to note that academic institutions from Northeast dominated the top of this year top universities ranking by Forbes, representing 17 colleges of the Top 25. The highest ranking public school is the University of California, Berkeley; the U.S. Naval Academy is the top military academy. The University of Chicago tops the rankings in the Midwest and Duke University earned the title of best school in the South by Forbes.

For people looking to study computer science, it is worth to consider other university ranking as strangely, there are colleges ranked among the top 20 of the Forbes’ Ranking where there are no leading research scientists affiliated to those academic institutions. Again, Education is always driven and shaped by the excellence of research.
