The main theme of the special issue: Soft Computing based Intelligent Decision Making Systems for Dynamic Frameworks with Real-world Application.
The digital transformation is allowing to better modelling the information and knowledge in decision making frameworks and providing new ways to support the decisions that are finally made. In this context, intelligent decision making systems based on soft computing tools provide new opportunities to support the decision making processes. Specifically, when the problem conditions or parameters vary over time, which is very usual in digital frameworks such as the Web, Web 2.0, IoT, Smart city environments, etc., these systems could play a relevant role. Indeed, many external and subjective factors could affect decision processes, therefore the advancement and development of dynamics intelligent decision making systems to deal with such circumstances is a necessity that is attracting a remarkable interest in our scientific community.
Relevance/importance of the theme of the special issue and need in the present context
Intelligent decision support systems based on soft computing methodologies are of great importance to deal with dynamic decision environments. They involve the design of mathematical models for modeling decision problems, the use of different information technologies (such as IoT, Web and social network analysis) and Artificial Intelligence tools (such as Computational Intelligence techniques – Evolutionary Computation (EC), Fuzzy Logic (FL) and Neural Networks (NNs)).
The objective of this special issue is to bring to the research community the latest research models, method, and practical application results from researchers with an interest in the research area described above. Specifically, we are interested in contributions towards the development of mathematical models for modeling dynamic decision problems as well as soft computing approaches that are able to deal with dynamic decision framework under uncertain and inconsistency information, with validation using real-world problem application results. Applications of intelligent decision approaches to solve/address real dynamic domain problems, and
The performance comparisons of different decision making procedures using real-world applications, i.e. hypothetical or illustrative numerical examples will not be accepted on their own as validation methodology of the proposed approaches.
Articles describing advanced prototypes, systems, tools and techniques and general survey papers indicating future directions in dynamic frameworks are also encouraged if they follow the above two specifications of the special issue.

Paper submissions for the special issue should follow the submission format and guidelines for regular papers and submitted at https://ees.elsevier.com/asoc. All the papers will be peer-reviewed following Applied Soft Computing reviewing procedures. Guest editors will make an initial assessment of the suitability and scope of all submissions. Papers will be evaluated based on their originality, presentation, relevance and contributions, as well as their suitability to the special issue. Papers that either lack originality, clarity in presentation or fall outside the scope of the special issue will not be sent for review. Authors should select “SI: Intell. Dynamic Frameworks” when they reach the “Article Type” step in the submission process. The submitted papers must propose original research that has not been published nor currently under review in other venues. Previously published conference papers should be clearly identified by the authors at the submission stage and an explanation should be provided about how such papers have been extended. Such contributions must have at least 50% difference from the research work they stem from.
