The next generation (5G and 6G) of communication networks will target unprecedented performance in terms of network capacity, quality of service, network availability, and user-experience. The convergence of the fifth-generation (5G) networks and big data analytics in today’s smart systems and devices is expected to disrupt the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) ecosystem. Advanced mathematical tools, such as those in the field of Big Data Analytics and Deep Learning (DL) also represent an extremely important opportunity to help in telecom, bioinformatics, healthcare, Internet of Things, social networks, and manufacturing. The possibility of efficiently leveraging large amounts of data, big data analytics, and Deep Learning tools, is expected to improve 5G and 6G networks through automation and self-optimization.
The main focus of this Special Section is on the most recent applications of Deep Learning and Big Data Analytics to optimize data for next-generation networks.

New papers, or extended versions of papers presented at related conferences, are welcome. Submissions must not be currently under review for publication elsewhere. Conference papers may be submitted only if they are substantially extended (more than 50%), and must be referenced. All submitted papers will be peer-reviewed using the normal standards of CAEE, and accepted based on quality, originality, novelty, and relevance to the theme of the special section. By submitting a paper to this Special Section, the authors agree to referee one paper (if asked) within the time frame of the Special Section.

He has contributed massive literature in the fields of Human-Computer Interaction, Intelligent Data Analysis, Nature-Inspired Computing, Machine Learning, and Soft Computing. He has served as Editor-in-Chief, Guest Editor, Associate Editor in SCI, and various other reputed journals (IEEE, Elsevier, Springer, Wiley & MDPI). He has actively been an organizing end of various reputed International conferences. He has completed his Post-Doc from Inatel, Brazil, and the University of Valladolid, Spain. He has authored/edited 34 books with National/International level publishers (IEEE, Elsevier, Springer, Wiley, Katson). Zdzislaw Polkowski is Professor of UJW at Faculty of Technical Sciences and Rector’s Representative for International Cooperation and Erasmus+ Program at the Jan Wyzykowski University Polkowice. Since 2019 he is also Adjunct Professor in Department of Business Intelligence in Management, Wroclaw University of Economics and Business, Poland.He is the former dean of the Technical Sciences Faculty during the period 2009 -2012 at UZZM in Lubin. He holds a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science and Management from the Wroclaw University of Technology, Post Graduate degree in Microcomputer Systems in Management from the University of Economics in Wroclaw, and Post Graduate degree IT in Education from Economics University in Katowice. He obtained his Engineering degree in Computer Systems in Industry from the Technical University of Zielona Gora. He has published more than 65 papers in journals, 25 conference proceedings, including more than 19 papers in journals indexed in the Web of Science, Scopus, IEEE. He served as a member of the Technical Program Committee in many International conferences in Poland, India, China, Iran, Romania, and Bulgaria. Till date he has delivered 20 invited talks at different international conferences across various countries. He is also a member of the Board of Studies and an expert member of the doctoral research committee in many universities in India. He is also a member of the editorial board of several journals and served as a reviewer in a wide range of international journals. His area of interest includes IT in Business, IoT in Business and Education Technology. He has completed a research project worth 120000 USD on Developing the innovative methodology of teaching Business Informatics (www.dimbi.pl) funded by the European Commission. He also owns an IT SME consultancy company in Polkowice and Lubin, Poland.
Sheng-Lung Peng is a Professor of the Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering at National Dong Hwa University, Taiwan. He received a BS degree in Mathematics from National Tsing Hua University, and the MS and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science from the National Chung Cheng University and National Tsing Hua University, Taiwan, respectively. He is an honorary Professor of Beijing Information Science and Technology University, China, and a visiting Professor of the Ningxia Institute of Science and Technology, China. He is also an adjunct Professor at Mandsaur University, India. He serves as the secretary-general of the ACM-ICPC Contest Council for Taiwan and the regional director of the ICPC AsiaTaipei-Hsinchu site. He is a director of the Institute of Information and Computing Machinery, of Information Service Association of Chinese Colleges and Taiwan Association of Cloud Computing. He is also a supervisor of the Chinese Information Literacy Association, of Association of Algorithms and Computation Theory.Dr. Peng has edited several special issues at journals, such as Soft Computing, Journal of Internet Technology, Journal of Real-Time Image Processing, International Journal of Knowledge and System Science, MDPI Algorithms, and so on. He is also a reviewer for more than 10 journals such as IEEE Access and Transactions on Emerging Topics in Computing,IEEE/ACM Transactions on Networking, Theoretical Computer Science, Journal of Computer and System Sciences, Journal of Combinatorial Optimization, Journal of Modelling in Management, Soft Computing, Information Processing Letters, Discrete Mathematics, Discrete Applied Mathematics, Discussiones Mathematicae Graph Theory, and so on. His research interests are in designing and analyzing algorithms for Bioinformatics, Combinatorics, Data Mining, and Networks areas in which he has published over 100 research papers.
