Conference Call for Papers

The Eighth IEEE International Workshop on Data Integration and

Mining (DIM-2019)

in conjunction with IEEE 20th International Conference on

Information Reuse and Integration for Data Science (IRI-2019)

Los Angeles, CA, USA

July 30 – August 1, 2019

The focus of this workshop is associated with data integration and

mining requirements and services due to the large-scale generation

of social, sensor, mobile, networking, and other types of data stored

in various data repositories, such as databases, data warehouses,

and Web. However, how to integrate those data resources with different

structures or ontologies to enable effective learning and discovery

of useful knowledge is still one of the most significant challenges.

Moreover, the recent progress on new devices and platforms makes it

possible to build new data integration and mining tools/applications

for new available data formats and multi-model interaction systems

that enable automatic data representation, analysis, and delivery.

This also attracts increasing attentions from some specific domains,

such as bioinformatics, multimedia, finance, healthcare, marketing,

telecommunications and insurance. The aim of this workshop is to

provide a forum for original high-quality research contributions

on data integration and mining techniques and applications, as well

as multidisciplinary research opportunities.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, practical areas

that span a variety of aspects of data integration and mining including:

– Large-scale data integration, mining and visualization

– Big data analytics and real-time analysis

– Recommender systems

– Metadata integration and management

– Data security and privacy

– Social media data analysis and computing

– Web-scale data mining and semantic discovery

– Network data integration and delivery

– Data filtering and cleaning

– Data integration environments and applications

– Data models, schemas and ontologies

– Database integration systems

– Data management and analysis in specific application domains

Authors are invited to submit a paper up to 8 pages (in English) in

double-column IEEE format following the submission guidelines available

at IRI-2019 (http://www.sis.pitt.edu/lersais/iri/2019/index.html).

Papers must be original and not submitted to or accepted by any other

conference or journal. An electronic version (PDF format) of the full

paper should be submitted directly via email to the Workshop Chair

(shyu@miami.edu). All submissions will be acknowledged.

Each paper will be peer reviewed by at least three experts in the

topical area. Papers accepted by the workshops will be published in

the conference proceedings published by IEEE Computer Society Press.

Outstanding papers will be selected for extension and publication in

the International Journal of Multimedia Data Engineering and Management
