Conference Call for Papers

Digital convergence is what enables individuals interact, communicate, collaborate and share information in many new and different ways. Yet, it has tended to focus on the ability to combine technical components and features such as voice, texts, video, pictures, broadcasts, presentation, streaming media, global connectivity and personalized services. Its new frontier—yet to be fully imagined—the capacity to blur socio-technical boundaries, such as those between the real and online world, producers and consumers, humans and machines, inter- and intra-firms, as well as between develop and emerging economies. This conference theme reflects the desire to strengthen and build consensus in existing research streams, while also taking on theoretical and methodological challenges while exploring emerging convergence opportunities.

We invite the submission of full completed research papers, Emergent Research Forum (ERF) papers, Professional Development Symposia (PDS), panels, workshops and Technology Research, Education, and Opinion (TREO) talk sessions to the 25th Americas Conference on Information Systems (AMCIS 2019), which will be held August 15-17, 2019 in Cancun, Mexico. AMCIS 2019 brings together academics and industry professionals around the world to exchange knowledge related to the AMCIS 2019 theme, New Frontiers in Digital Convergence.

We are looking for submissions that will create, identify, and leverage the awesome convergence potential of the digital economy and the networked society. With you, we will present an exciting program that draws upon the best of SIG-driven AMCIS traditions, and continues successful initiatives such as the Emergent Research Forums and Technology Research, Education, and Opinion Talks. As Program Chairs, we are committed to offering you a program that allows us all to experience what fun it can be to work in this incredible discipline of ours, as we appreciate and enjoy the natural splendor of Cancun.
